Downloading Software

Downloading is the process of copying a file from another computer system (or from the Internet or a CD-ROM) to your computer.

Shareware, freeware, limited-time trial software, and plug-ins are all examples of software that is often downloaded from the Internet.

Some programs, once downloaded, will require you to fill out a registration form. Click here for a sample of a registration form.

After downloading, software still has to be "installed" in order to be used on your computer.
